Pros

Reasonable appointment start times Good receptionists Decent material quality

Cons

No training pay, but countless hours of driving are required before they even think about cutting you a check. They never reimbursed my mileage or tolls. Commission takes months to come in. Training also lasted however long management wanted. It was originally supposed to be 5 days of training but mine lasted almost a month. I never had weekly support meetings despite being assured I'd have help every week. They told me countless times that the average drive to an appointment is 20-30 minutes but I was almost always driving an hour or more. Owners act like they're doing you a favor by paying you for your work and offering incentives for good reviews. They also have no problems firing you for taking off work due to COVID and keeping your last paycheck.

The points you are bringing up vary by location due to state laws. Most all locations pay for training. The commission is set higher than the industry standard to offset driving expenses along with bonuses and other perks. Again this varies by state and employment laws.

Pros

The only pro here is the hard-working employees from the crew to designers. Which really isn’t the way they’re being taken advantage of.

Cons

The owners are inexperienced in running a business and managing employees. Laurie talks AT everyone with an attitude and aggressive tone. And thinks she can get away with it because its a Franchise - there is no one to report her behavior to. She gives the company a bad rapport. They are unorganized and sporadic. They overcharge clients and do not refund their money. Talk negatively about clients and employees around the office (out loud). Laurie has no self- awareness and because of it creates a toxic environment. She hides behind the fact she’s never managed before. Which is fine, but you don’t talk to people disrespectfully and expect them to work for you. I wouldn’t work here even if I were desperate for a job. These people seem to be working under the influence of drugs with the daily outbursts that occur in the office and dilated pupils. Not a professional place to work to say the least. Overall bad for business.

I am very saddened to hear how upset you are. You can contact Dan Grandon, President of Franchising. Laurie has been in the industry for many years although you are correct that this is their first year in business - in this market. I think it's best you speak to Dan about your concerns. I question many of the statements you are making because some are very slanderous however I am not here to judge. Every employee that invests their time and energy in Closet Factory should feel they can be heard and I do want to express that it's most unfortunate that it wasn't a match. We do wish you the best.
