Pros

on the whole Cobank is good compared to other billion dollar makers. former lackluster IT reviews are deserved; male-slanted god complexes make it impossible to get simple questions answered. sorry to see Bob (Engel) stepping down; no nonsense banker-possibly too many rough edges but he made a ton of money for this company and employees don't want for much-if anything. thank you Bob! we live very nice lives due to your leadership. personally i'm a fan! HR: best HR dept I've ever seen. again-Bob O'Toole is well-deserved of a nod for his leadership there!

Cons

Again Bob E. acknowledged the challenging 'pockets' around the form in his all Associates talk. Now you really need to weed the bad apples out. It's not rocket science-just stop coddling the dysfunctional and take some action and have those hard conversations. plenty of folks knocking on the door to get in.

Pros

Fair pay, plenty of advancement opportunities, very important mission makes it easier to go to work each day.

Cons

Hierarchical and not very progressive. Challenging the status quo is difficult.

Secure place to work, does need some tweaks - but don't they all?

Pros

This company is very stable, being one of the largest Ag banks out there it's not going anywhere. Decent benefits, good work/life balance, and a good amount of vacation time (3 weeks)

Cons

There are so many hoops to jump through in regards to promotions, projects, or getting stuff done that even the managers don't properly know what to do. This process needs streamlining to make life easier for everyone The career path needs to be more defined, I have heard many rumblings that there is no clear career path and that's why some people choose to leave.
