Pros

Lovely new building in great location; industry-standard benefits package (health, 401k); generous vacation policy (3 weeks); financially stable; great training opportunities; generally are given the tools needed to do your job. Exceptional college internship program and credit training program.

Cons

Woefully understaffed back office functions result in long hours and rely heavily on the dedicated work ethic of many. Headcount is obsessively controlled - trying to get additional staffing is like getting a bill through Congress. But contractors are hired at the drop of a hat. Very silo'd organization structure with a significant lack of accountability - when something goes wrong, fingers start pointing all over the place. Major projects are initiated without proper prioritization or resources, driven by arbitrary deadlines, which ultimately results in a poor quality end product covered up by cumbersome manual processes and workarounds that eventually fail. Incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to advance from supervisory to management role, or from mid-level management to anything above. Senior management positions are almost always hired from outside the company, not within. Excessive reliance on expensive external consultants while ignoring knowledgeable, intelligent employees.

Pros

Fantastic work life balance, first year employees earn 3 weeks of vacation, plus 2 weeks of sick time. Vacation accrual increases by 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 22 - that's a whole working month! Company is undergoing a long overdue shift to Agile/SCRUM and product oriented teams. Long string of record profit years, which increases the already generous short term incentive pay (bonuses). Very diverse IT staff where diverse opinions are valued and most teams have a close knit and friendly working relationship.

Cons

Lack of appropriate authority delegation - this is both a function of longstanding culture and a lack of formality around delegated authorities, both of which are being addressed and changing rapidly for the better.

Pros

Was a nice environment to work in a few years ago. Great coworkers, nice revamped carpet, and cubicles. Decent pay although I was about 10K behind the curve, Benefits were decent.

Cons

Turnover was very high towards the end of my time-especially in the IT department. Upper management tends to over think things and changes things that don't need to be changed.
