Pros

Working with drones and having the company insure them.

Cons

Why does CoStar pay photographers who have been there for 10+ years so low? Then they hire fancy "architectural photographers" at a MUCH higher rate and we all end up doing the same exact work, except Field Research photographers do even more because they input data, which is KEY to making CoStar profitable! That is wrong! ALL photographers should make the same amount especially loyal employees. They're keeping photographers in the 50k range while on-boarding AP's at 70-90k.

Pros

Decent pay, low cost in benefits, exposure of toxic workplace has forced company to increase the value of company provided benefits (extended parental leave, extended bereavement leave, one work from home day, free parking), easy job if you can get a decent manager and are in a market that allows you to spam calls.

Cons

Incredibly toxic work environment. Constantly being told how great their latest spyware is for you and the clients. If you haven’t been promoted to a manager in less than two years on the job, then good luck with any vertical movement unless they have mass termination/exodus of current managers. From my experience and what I saw you are either moved up quick, completely taken advantage of while actively being passed up on opportunities, or they know you are there to just be a robot and make money so why would they reward you with any career progression. Consistent micromanagement (I’m talking the same 10 emails sent to you everyday for the past few years within your first hour of clocking in) Being promised and shown how you can make extra money from “leads” only to get told yours didn’t qualify months later. Expected workload is way higher than practical or needed workload. At the end of the day this isn’t a job. It’s a game that you aren’t told the rules and you have to figure them out. The rules also change every 4-8 weeks and the entire research department scrambles to figure them out. Sometimes they change the rules and directors don’t even know them.
