Pros

Good benefits package, especially health insurance

Cons

While I was working there, there were multiple rounds of layoffs. A year after I left, I found that my remaining coworkers were also laid off. Even if you relocate to another office and buy a house, etc, they could lay you off a month later. You are not valued as employees.

Pros

It’s a good place to start your career fresh out of college that’s it.

Cons

- No real content calendar - No KPIs - No content strategy just whatever the President or VP is being yelled at about that gets passed down the chain - Managers and other coworkers more concerned with gossip about who was fired last or literally anything else. Unless it was a team meeting I don’t really remember talking about work much. - No organization. Quite literally they throw sh*t at the fan and hope it works. From last minute buggy product releases to asking for large request to be done in two days and then having to fight for the actual things you need to get the article done. Maybe leadership does care but there’s so much corporate red tape they can’t do anything. All I saw was leadership looking like they were just trying to keep their head above water or ride out the last couple years until retirement. I know the horror stories start and are well known in Richmond. But they’re alive and very much real in Atlanta.

Pros

Good benefits/pay bc it’s such a big company. I liked my direct management and found my team to be very supportive of my development and overall performance, but there was definitely a mixed bag among the tenant research teams. The company culture is very young, they put a lot of heavy recruiting into new college grads and young people changing their career paths for the tenant research roles. They host company holiday parties and field days. The office space is very nice and a huge new building is coming to their Richmond campus.

Cons

Tenant research is the worst department in the company. People from other departments actually grimace when you tell them what you do. The turn over for this role is incredibly high because it’s straight cold calling for 8 hrs everyday. During their recruitment at universities they flower up the role a bit to appeal to new grads looking for roles in consulting/tech/business areas. The expectations are high and focus on speed and number of calls rather than the accuracy of the data you enter. They also promise a lot of other opportunities from this “get your foot in the door role” but they are all more research roles that are exactly the same but with a different title pretty much. You have to pass a first round of tests after your initial training which lasts for about a month. If your scores aren’t high enough you get let go at the end. They keep metric scores for the researchers which is standard, but they display everyone’s scores on large screens on the walls across the floor. It’s a shame bc I liked my coworkers a lot, but I was gaining no valuable skills and I just felt so stressed everyday. I finally gave up after 6 months bc I had had enough of being yelled at by strangers over the phone and knew this just was not worth it for me.
