Pros

Flexible schedule, lots of marketing materials.

Cons

Very demanding and stressful. Unattainable goals, not enough training. Everyone that leaves is on some sort of anxiety meds!

Pros

The office building and view from the office is nice. Good location if you enjoy living and working in the city.

Cons

This company is very misleading to their employees and set wholly different standards once you actually do the job. They claim they're not big on sales and even stated this in the interview. They claim that the research associate position has nothing to do with making more sales for the company and that all you will be doing is liaising with CoStar clients. This is all very misleading as you are constantly pushed to produce and gain more clients. Furthermore, the lack of communication within the company, from corporate to managers/managers to employees, is unbelievable. Most of the time it is unclear as to what needs to get done. Lastly, the young managers within the office have tough quotas and will likely fail to treat you with respect. I feel looked down upon with no hope of ever moving up in the company, as they play favorites. Advice: Apply somewhere else, not a good job to have.

Thank you for your review. We are always working on ways to improve our communications with our employees. Research is at the heart of CoStar’s succcess and we deeply value researchers’ contributions. We provide weeks of training to make sure that researchers have the tools they need to be successful in a fast-paced environment and clearly lay out their roles and responsiblities. We’d appreciate the opportunity to gather more information. If you’re comfortable please contact us at hrdepartment@costar.com.

Pros

The people you meet and work with The free breakfasts

Cons

Everyone above managers and even some managers live with their heads in the clouds. At one point we were getting memos literally every week about what we needed to change. Ridiculous metrics to the point that you could have had a near perfect call with a broker, but then get a 0 score on your evaluation for forgetting to ask one question. Because one question is going to make or break the rest of the work you just did....
