Upper management is awful. Be prepared to have absolutely everything you do scrutinized down to the smallest detail. Get used to managers warning you that the CEO or SVP of Research is going to be in the building so that you can be extra vigilant and make sure you don't make a mistake in front of them. Or be discouraged from offering meaningful feedback because then you "wouldn't be a team player" and you "just need to get on board with what the SVP and CEO want". Watch coworkers cry in bathrooms and break rooms from the stress. Get yelled at for doing exactly what you were told to do because "that manager wasn't up to date with best practices ". Be entertained as departments within the organization are given conflicting goals and measurements so work is never really complete as one undoes what another does. It's a circus held for one man and his executives.

Yes, these reviews are so real! I don't know where to start... toxic culture, you are forced to me on meetings that take all day and they expect you to get your work done all at the same time, unrealistic expectations, too much brown nosing, some employees don't have an ounce of empathy when in comes to communicating with you in a respectful manner, no regard to work/life balance, condescending fake smiles, expecting you to always be available for last minute meetings that last for hours, not respecting your time - people not asking you when a good time is to meet, other people taking credit for your great ideas, too much ego and bragging, unorganized, your mental health doesn't matter, below market pay, upper management disregards any positive suggestions you have... I wouldn't be surprised if someone in this company gaslights me for my honest thoughts here, and I'm not the only one who has something to say.
