One of the Greatest Disappointments of My Life
Pros
The one real positive was that I wasn’t interrogated when letting my manager know that I needed to use PTO; I would just text them and they’d say, “It’s your time, use it how you please.” Otherwise, the insurance options through Aetna were great, but that’s necessary because this place wreaks havoc on your health. A disability plan is also included through Lincoln Financial, but don’t count on being able to use it.
Cons
I could write a novel on the evils of CoStar, but they’re not worth any more of my time and energy (not to mention I still fear retaliation). Suffice to say, my top complaint is that they openly discriminated against people with disabilities on more than one occasion. And if you think that doesn’t apply to you, it might in time. I watched multiple colleagues resign abruptly due to anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts, essentially a plethora of mental health issues they didn’t have prior. HR may try to respond to this review saying that they wish I’d made them aware of these issues when I was still employed there, but I did and they were actually complicit (also one time it took them a month to respond, other times they didn’t reply at all). People tried to warn me before I accepted the job, but I thought I was willing to endure anything for the money. Please take heed - no amount of pay is worth the damages you’ll suffer from working in this toxic cesspool.
