Pros

Health benefits were very good. They put the money into market the products and into the technology to create opportunity and be very visable. And they throw very elaborate customer parties

Cons

They do not value their employees and find ways to avoiding paying out on hard work. They buy companies to dissolve them and lay of departments at a time or push people out once they have gotten all the knowledge necessary out of them. There are no ethics in place.

Thanks for your frank review. We take ethics very seriously at CoStar and encourage employees to report any ethical concerns to their manager, Human Resources (hrdepartment@costar.com) or the Company Hotline (888-496-0665). If you have an ethical or pay concern we definitely want to hear from you. It is an unfortunate result of acquisitions that companies sometimes cannot fully utilize all of the talented employees that come along with an acquisition. A large part of why Costar makes acquisitions is to acquire the employees who bring the knowledge, experience and leadership in the industry. We do our best to make a new home for all acquired employees offering them new jobs and relocation when possible. When it is not possible we treat our exiting employees fairly with severance and outplacement to ease their transition to new employment.

Pros

I really do not see any pros. Unfortunately they were not very reasonable once they took over Apartment Finder.

Cons

They are a very mans world type of company. Plus they really do not have good customer service. Most of the clients I got to sign over to them have left. They really are not very good in the Apartment world.

Pros

Great location, near metro station.

Cons

In the dark about how they calculate bonuses....sometimes you receive feedback and sometimes you don't. ...you can drop in quality 40 percent and no explanation. ....deceptive practices, and withhold important information needed to succeed.

While I don’t know your individual bonus situation, CoStar Group makes a point to reward our hard-working researchers with the additional compensation they deserve. Quarterly bonuses in Research are structured so all researchers receive a bonus unless they have either just come out of training, or are on a Performance Improvement Plan, the causes of which are clearly communicated to the researcher prior to the start of the plan. The size of the bonus is determined by the researcher’s manager based on performance – having moved away from strictly metrics-based evaluations of daily work, we encourage our managers to look at the quality of work and effort put in by their researchers when considering bonus amounts. Bonuses do not start at specific amounts that are lowered for not meeting a certain goal – the overall amount is determined after the close of each quarter to take the overall quality of the researcher’s work into account.
