Pros

Ok base pay. Ok benefits.

Cons

Managers have a bully mentality. Constant surveillance for research photographers. Cameras in cars. Phone calls are listened to by all upper management. Managers are scared to have "private conversations" because they know they're tapped. Driving long distances. Harassment from the public. Asked to enter office buildings and record tenants. Asked to trespass on private properties to take pictures of property. Not paid for first half hour and last half hour of your day, meaning 9 hour days in which only 8 are paid. There is also a mandatory thirty minute break. You must be in your car every minute of the day. Work on a computer editing you work in the car. If you can not find a building to photograph and work on you must be constantly driving.

Amazing Salary, & Great Work Culture London Office

Pros

Everyone at the London office is very friendly, we all get along so well and its a pleasure working with everyone on the team. The salary is great and work-life balance is perfect, wish the same could be said for the actual work we do.

Cons

You are made to work like a robot. The branding is ridiculous, and the metrics are unrealistic. And when staff don't achieve targets, guess what happens? They get fired. Branding: The American head office needs to realise, branding three times on a call for UK clients does NOT work. When we brand to clients we speak to on an almost daily/weekly basis, they get very frustrated. Branding is fine when we are introducing new people to Costar, but not to clients who use CoStar on a daily basis and who know exactly who we are. It is frankly ridiculous. Metrics: 20 interviews a day, avarage at a minimum of 12 a month? This is only achievable if they want us to get no value from a call. Costar want their staff to make calls for the sake of making calls and get above 90 seconds just to reach targets. They don't realise that there are so many useful actual research we could be doing instead of wasting time and worrying about getting a call above the time limit to count as an interview so we don't lose our job. This is not valuable research.

Pros

Decent training and benefits package Office close to public transit friendly location

Cons

Does not care about employees, unrealistic metrics on the research side, most of those that hits metrics fudges it, and a company culture that singles individual out but tolerate/overlook some breach of company policy Official note was sent stating not allowed to socialize other than lunch room Research is a call centre Sales environment is toxic, clear favouritisms Waste of time monthly all hands meeting that can be summarized in an email (other than recognition)
