Pros

People think working for Coke is a prestigious occupation.

Cons

Half Time overtime. $115-$125/ day is good if you work 8 hrs a day ($14-$16/hr). You will NEVER get done in 8 hours. Instead, you’ll likely wear your body down pulling heavy pallets and lifting heavy cases for 12+hours ($9-$11). Still sound good? Well that rate of pay is only good for the first 40 hours. You get overtime! Oh yeah, the 20 hours of overtime you worked this week come in at a whopping $4.79-$5.21. It’s called half time over time and it should be illegal. How the labor dept hasn’t done a class action lawsuit against this company is beyond me! Here’s the real math. Day rate ($125) x number of days worked (5) = $625 this is your base salary. Divide base salary ($625) by number of hours worked (60) = $10.42 this is your hourly rate. For overtime pay you “halve” your hourly rate (10.42/2= $5.21). Your half time overtime rate is 5.21. You worked 20 hours of overtime at 5.21 per hour = $104.2. Add your base salary ($625) to your overtime pay ($104) and your pay for the week is $729. Not bad right? $12.15 an hour this week. This schedule has you at your first store before the sun comes up and leaving your last store before the sun goes down. And you are EXHAUSTED! This is a recipe for bad health and a very unhappy home life.

Pros

Simply there aren’t any anymore

Cons

I have worked here for let’s say almost two decades. I have watched this company go from being the best employee dedicated place to work with a family and team environment where they really did care about you and it showed in the way they treated you and in your paycheck to the worst. Make you work yourself to death, who cares about your life, your family, your health and most of all your paycheck. This company has been consumed by greed in every way and might as well revamp their mission statement because it currently starts with “Honor God in all we do” but I don’t know what Christian treats other people like they treat us now. There is NO SUPPORT. Human Resources is an absolute Joke. They pay variable rate overtime yet set you up not only for failure but set it up so you will have to work 60,70 sometimes even 80 hours in a week. This used to be the best most amazing place to work and it has hurt my heart to see it go South the way it has. Turn over is at an all time high, they are paying less than you can get flipping burgers for way harder work and way more hours. Supervisors don’t answer their phone most of the time, communication is almost extinct. Yet the leaders of this company and our depart think we should be positive not negative. Seriously? What is there to be positive about? That we have a job? I have never seen anything like it and it is very sad, unethical and should be illegal. Bulk Merchandising is a minimum $18 to $20 an hour job to start and they are paying $125 a day figured on a 10 hour day. Do the math. Shameful yet the top leaders of this company enjoy multi Million dollar bonuses off the hard working backs of people like me. Hear about them building pool houses and have 2600 acre property with every thing from a hunting area to a pet elephant. Never saw it but heard about it from multiple people in higher positions through the years. But this is a publicly traded company so look up the part about the bonuses. Oh yeah in all these years never received on just a $20 gift card at Christmas which they taxed folks. In closing everything here is the truth and can easily be proved. Go apply somewhere you can enjoy your family and your life. Don’t sell your soul to the devil as I apparently have.

Pros

Not many left now. The Purpose Statement used to be the reason for coming to work and giving it all while knowing most people felt the same way. Now it has become a joke that upper management points to to try to boost morale. Too little, too late. Good workers who are now just done wrong too often.

Cons

Pay is well below market. Work/Life balance is just poor. My position is consistently 10-15% below market and the good economy is widening the spread. Calculate your salary to hours worked and you really see how little you are valued as an employee. People who leave this company are much happier elsewhere.
