* Awesome product with great potential, really give it a try! * Authentic and friendly culture * Great people at all levels * Extremely high transparency * Democratic processes * Real excitement & real reflection of criticisms, not just kool-aid

Cons

* Rapid changes of processes as the business outgrows old practices * Remains to be seen if the org can properly hold onto it's identity following rapid growth * Still in the midst of finding solutions to issues with the product * Product space is becoming competitive

Pros

One of the main reasons I joined Coda was because I knew some of the people here from previous roles. It didn't matter what the product was, I'd go into war with these folks. It just so happened that the product was innovating on old paradigms (docs and spreadsheets) and is a space I'm passionate about. During my first week at Coda, I was told I was hired because of who I am, and that you can be who you are, all the time. There's no work "face" you have to put on. There's no pretending. You can be your authentic self and the culture here celebrates that.

Cons

Like many fast-growing companies, there are growing pains. You have hundreds of thousands of users asking you for XYZ but you know the team only has time and resources for X this quarter. Prioritization needs to happen. Some customers will be annoyed or upset their feature requests didn't make it into the product. It's disappointing to disappoint our customers. But I'd rather be part of an organization where our customers care deeply about these features and voice their opinions than not getting feedback at all. We're also a fully distributed team, so as the team grows it becomes harder to get to know your teammates behind Slack pings. Nice thing is every quarter there is a company hackathon where you can work on blue-sky projects with people you may not ordinarily work with o a day-to-day basis.

Pros

- Coda's culture is one that values collaboration. Nearly all conversations are open to everyone, and all opinions are valued. - The executive staff (and everyone else in the company) have remained extremely accessible through the company's scale. - The company recognizes growing pains as they are and does what it can to alleviate them ASAP—including adjusting the company schedule to accommodate timezone differences and generally avoiding meeting overload. - We're given a lot of autonomy and space to create a job that is rewarding.

Cons

- There are definitely growing pains that can be quite disruptive. Everyone is dedicated to working them out, but in the meantime, we have to work around them.
