Pros

Talented colleagues and fun clients.

Cons

Code and Theory has significant issues that make it a challenging workplace. Leadership is ineffective, leading to poor communication and decision-making problems, resulting in low morale. The work environment is toxic, marked by overwork, lack of support, and office politics, leading to high turnover and dissatisfaction. Professional development opportunities are limited, with a lack of training programs and promotion biases causing talent drain and demotivation. Employees also face unclear terminations, fostering fear and undermining job security. The micromanagement, chaos, and toxic culture driven by senior leadership make it the worst career experience in over 15 years. Deceptive recruitment promises frequent performance reviews and rewards for good work, which never materialize. Toxic management leads to high turnover, opaque firings, and misleading feedback. Despite efforts to improve gender balance, the workplace remains a boys' club, limiting opportunities for female leaders and stifling original thinking.

Hi and thank you for your feedback. I see that you are still here from what it says on your review and I would strongly encourage you to come find me so we can dig into your feedback further. We have a review system where by employees should get formal feedback after 6 months and then 4-6 months after that. We aren't always on time as things get busy but we hope that managers and employees are also checking in frequently to address things in real time so that every employee has someone who support them in their day to day. If this is not happening for you we want to know about it. As for gender balance we are split 50-50% and have recently promoted and hired some incredible senior women. We continue to try and do better and make decisions in service of our business and our talented employees. Please do find me if you can. I can be reached at pamela.delbene@codeandtheory.com - thank you!
