Old, tired products and culture

Pros

Great benefits! The company contribute 13% to the employee 403B. The company is very mission-drive. They have older, legacy assessments that will probably keep them in business for a while longer.

Cons

This organization is stale and tired. The product suite is very siloed - most times one program doesn't know what the other is doing which leads to miscommunications and rework. There is quite a bit of cronyism in this company; one never knows who might have it out for you and if your job will be there tomorrow. The recent "reorganization" notwithstanding, the company has no idea how to make the changes it so desperately needs to keep up with the needs of institutions and school districts. The high-profile, first-class travel habits of middle and senior management do not support the organization's mission.This company is the place where older, tired college deans and school district officials comes after they've retired.

Pros

Great benefits, good work life balance;

Cons

Leadership is lacking; in IT we WERE moving forward, now it seems like we are moving backwards; we've lost a majority of the most talented people that worked at the company due to layoffs and not reviewing consultants contracts.

Bureaucratic, political, and outdated.

Pros

Nice Benefits for full time employees

Cons

- Rampant Politics (I've seen teams outright refuse to work with each other) - Incredible amounts of red tape that make it impossible to get things done quickly - Personnel decisions made based on cronyism, not competence. - Tools and processes that are at least ten years out of date. - Many managers more interested in protecting their fiefdoms than in getting anything done. - Contractors are treated the worst I've seen in over twenty years - Management who thinks nothing of setting unreasonable standards (ex: mandatory unpaid overtime) - Top-heavy organization, hiring more directors even as workers are being laid off
