Great benefits. Great mission. Great brand reputation and national platform. Some very intelligent and passionate people scattered throughout the organization.

Cons

Senior leadership egos, politics, and lack of leadership capabilities. Operating as individuals, rather than a cohesive team. Lip service, dragging feet, self-importance. Bureaucracy is stifling. No real decisions, goals, metrics, or accountability. No results, little impact, no innovation.

Besides all that, I am here to share an HR story that can be a highlight of my career stories. I am an Asian American. Once, I had to call a senior HR director to discuss an event. When we just connected on the Teams call, the HR Sr. Director called my name wrong (another Asian name). I addressed her with my correct name, but instead of acknowledging her mistake, she insisted I was another Asian and even pulled up that person's team's photo and said, "Isn't this you?". I mean, how wrong could this be, like I don't even know my own name and face? Mind that this is a HR management... Some teams can act as superior the others just because they are the cash cow of the company.

The board is filled with wonderful generous colleagues who will work themselves into the ground for results. These are some of the most empathetic I’ve met in a corporate structure

Cons

I’ve been here for 7 years and my career is stuck. Completely stalled out and not for a lack of effort! If you don’t get to the senior roles within 3 years, you probably won’t ever advance. Keep that in mind. I’ve applied to 4 roles in which I met the qualifications and could not get through internally for an interview.
