      Made the switch from contractor to FT!

      Pros

      I was happy being a contractor with Color (for 18 months), until a FT position opened up, and well, that was the best decision I could make. GREAT culture, AWESOME team, Learning a lot, making a difference, mission aligns with my way of life, helpful managers/team, departments work well together, work/life balance encouraged, dog friendly office, and it is a growing company.

      Pros

      Catered food with a unique menu with multiple items on it every single day, tons of free snacks and drinks (anything you can imagine including kombucha on tap), really close to bart, $200 of Lyft credits per month. bathrooms have lotion, tooth brushes, mints, mouthwash and relaxing music in them, everyone is super friendly, chance for overtime and 10% pay raise if you work the graveyard, tons of room for promotion and upward movement in this growing company; you could make it happen pretty fast, benefits include free therapy sessions and much more. Good work/home balance Paid lunch

      No phones allowed in the lab You can only voice a preference for your shift time, the decision will be made for you and you’ll probably be working on weekends

      Great engineering team and work environment

      Pros

      Engineering software for a health care company is very rewarding, and our work impacts many lives on a daily basis. I really enjoy working at Color, for many reasons: - Strong focus on good engineering practices. - Using modern tools and frameworks to enhance quality engineering. - Great communication between departments - Solid business plans and goals that enable a very strong financial outcome. - A great technical team, with smart engineers, designers, and support. - and more!

      Cons

      We have been moving pretty fast, particularly with COVID-19 testing, which has allowed some technical debt to grow. I'd like to get more focus on reducing this overhead. It is important to keep it in-check, and I am sure we will as testing stabilizes.
