      Great part time job to have while pursuing a degree

      Pros

      Work life balance is really respected. Very friendly staff. The management is very relaxed and working with students is fun

      Cons

      (in the computer lab at the college of business) the pay is fair but it usually won't increase, you wont get a performance review.

      Pros

      A lot of vacation time. Opportunities to interact and mentor students. Generally CSU supports research at the administrative levels, especially considering the declining education budgets within the state.

      Cons

      Generally the pay is poor compared to private institutions, and most employees haven't had a raise since 2008. There are some exceptional students at CSU, who I have enjoyed working with, but the vast majority of undergraduates do not take learning seriously and have very poor critical thinking skills.

      Pros

      Working at CSU, for one of the colleges provides some of the benefits of both a larger company and a smaller one. The vacation time really stands out as a plus in the compensation package. I would describe my experience at CSU as fairly laid back, but not without challenges and opportunities.

      Cons

      In my college at least, we are growing to the point where we need to implement significantly more structure--this transition can be difficult for some. The monetary compensation is not what I would call competitive, though there are tradeoffs. Budgets have been tight with the economy, making raises and promotions difficult to come by.
