Pros

Competitive pay and fantastic hours. Management was always lenient about giving you time off. FANTASTIC work life balance as well as the ability to get paid volunteer 40 hours!

Cons

HIRING FREEZ and the CLOSURE OF MANY BRANCHES. The company is not on a good path. There is Horrible management, no ability to further your career, terrible incentive because everybody in the branch is a banker and the company has NO customers ever. Systems are outdated by 15 years and your coworkers have been there for 5-10 years and have never moved up because of the lack of positions. Training is consistently canceled so you have no ability to learn anything except what your coworkers or area manager learned 15 years ago... Sad sad sad

Pros

THERE ARE NONE.

Cons

The whole company is managed by fear of reprisal and it starts and comes from the top with the current CEO. There is no coordination of effort between Executive management which trickles down to department heads, with everyone afraid of giving up some power to the other. All of this has destroyed the moral of the employee base and efficiency of all operations. It is reflected in the customer service in all areas, from the retail service to online banking and all lending platforms. Until there is a change in management and style of managing so that we can get back to the promise to use the "best of the best" in people and processes that we went into the merger thinking was going to happen, this organization is doomed.

Great at first, but struggling with Sterling merger

Pros

The company culture is one of empowerment. There is a lot of room for career growth if you are willing to work hard and put in the time. The people are fantastic and great to work with.

Cons

With the Sterling merger, company politics have become prominent. The culture is being diluted as a result of compromise with retained leadership. Pay is not at market for comparable positions and the company is slow to address. Even with large turnover, no adjustments have been made. Lack of leadership in some areas and upper management feels that middle managers are responsible for leading without support.
