Pros

Umpqua Bank is a great bank with a vision of being a different kind of bank; attempting to keep a small, local feel, while growing into a major contender for big banks. Employees are treated well and participate in Motivational Moments every day. Training is plentiful for those who want it, which I prefer because it keeps lazy, unmotivated people out of the classes. Associates are empowered to make decisions without asking permission for everything, which gives us a feeling of ownership and responsibility. The Universal Associate position means you get a lot of variety, which is awesome and helps protect you from the monotony of a job where you do the same thing every day.

Cons

It is extremely difficult to get time off for medical appointments or to take care of errands at businesses that are only open during "banker's" hours. Because of the Universal Associate position, it does take awhile to become confident in your job; associates aren't able to focus all of their energy on learning just one job and perfecting it. For the first couple years, you're a "Jack of all Trades, Master of None," so to speak.

Pros

Connect time - Perk where you are paid company wages as you donate your time to an approved non-profit or charity. You get to play with a lot of cutting edge technology Great people in IT Rated as one of the top companies to work for( I believe it is an average place to work in IT, but outside of IT, it is better)

Cons

New solutions are implemented without the staff to maintain the solution over the life cycle of the solution. Work life balance is completely unbalanced towards WORK in IT. Understaffed for the work that needs to be accomplished including business as usual work and project work.
