Glorified Call Center

Pros

Working from home was nice. The coworkers made it a very friendly and helpful environment. They were extremely nice people and so were all the team leads. The trainers also made the job appear fun and they were good guides.

Cons

You were expected to take a certain number of calls per day and get through them as fast as possible. This is difficult when you’re trying to comfort multiple clients who are escalated. The anxiety waking up every morning and the repetition of saying the same lines over and over really made the job not worth it. When working full time, you could only take 5-10 minute breaks. Any 15 minute breaks you had to clock in and out for and make up at the end of your shift. We did get an hour of lunch which was nice but I always thought companies had to allow for 15 minute breaks. Pay was extremely low ($16 an hour for having a Bachelor’s degree) and you only get raises once a year based on your call intake performance. Nothing will make up for being yelled at by counselors and regular clients- it made the job intimidating and scary, quite honestly. ComPsych is a great company, I would just never recommend this position to anyone.

Pros

Remote work , health care benefits, you have the option to work from 730 to 4 as opposed to the normal 9 to 5.

Cons

Training is useless , you sit in zoom for a month while the trainer reads off the PowerPoint .After 4 weeks of “ training” you are expected to start taking calls, you’re resource is one note which isn’t useful when it comes to searching for information that you need . BEWARE calls are very depressing and lots of callers call in upset and angry because of their frustration towards our claim process . Ive had callers threaten to report us due to their experiences with us . I’ve been yelled at and spoken to very rudely . Calls can last an hour long . Team leads are not helpful and don’t care about you’re mental health their main focus is production .! How are you expected to reach 40 calls everyday when callers are angrily venting and crying to you, speaking about their suicide attempts and mourning loved ones deaths .this company does not appreciate you’re efforts you are just a number .

Pros

Bagels on Friday's are literally the only pros

Cons

Working at this company with terrible, repulsive, unqualified management. Pay is minuscule, management gaslights and commits microaggressions on the daily . the CEO is also a garbage person at person and a bigot at the worst. Their HR dept. enables toxic behavior and practices. One time I brought up being asked to work overtime without being offered pay for those hours and their HR rep (who was later promoted) advised that "everybody works extra without pay, I worked 60 hours this week and I'm not complaining about it". They don't value workers or work. Their mantra is take advantage of people while they are young and looking for experience or are older and need a job. They will underpay you and offer no opportunities unless you have a connection to the executive team. Also tech is crazy behind, all the computers are from the 90s and their systems are archaic.
