Pros

Nice commissions WHEN you make enough sales. 12 week PAID parental leave after the birth / adoption of a child.. must be there 90 days first. A covid screening system that pays you to miss work when sick.

Cons

Outrageous sales goals for all stores, regardless of actual traffic or socioeconomic demographic of the town. A minimum sales benchmark (lower than goal) where you get advanced on the 5 step track toward termination for every month you miss it that is within 6 months of having missed it before. It's called the Sales Success Plan lol. Requires you to have available Flex and Float PTO available to cover absences. Vacation can't cover it for the absence part (like if you were out of Flex and Float). Not very friendly to families with kids and even more so towards single parents due to the limited amount of time to go around for your whole family. Customer just want to lower their bill and you have to convince them that they actually need to add TV services to their bill. ROACHES: Customers return bug infested equipment to stores, from their bug infested homes, so sometimes you track the bug to your own house. I've literally seen a few roaches in my house ever since I started working there. Never had that happen before.

Good and the Bad

Pros

Great benefits, great learning opportunities and chance for advancement. Comcast has a whole has a solid content footing. The overall company will evolve and find a way through leadership.

Cons

Constant reorganization. (Typically every 18-22 Months since 2014) Struggles supporting their AE's appropriately, so they can use their time to sell. Way too much structure and micromanaging. Effectv struggles to remain profitable and is not growing for local teams. Sales Rep counts continue to go down, clients continue to feel that old traditional media does not have answer. As the company rolls out a demand platform, teams are reluctant to support. Their strategy to push Multi-Screen is solid, but competition and confusion in the market continue to sneeze their product offerings.

Pros

When I started at Comcast I thought they were a s**t company. I needed a job though so I applied and got my foot in the door. Over the following 10 years my perspective changed and I grew to appreciate how they treat their employees. Comcast has helped me out personally and they have taken care employee friends of mine as well. They helped me stay with the company when I moved states, and I got nothing but support when my partner had a major health issue that required I take many days off work. I'm eternally grateful for that. The culture has significantly changed for the better since I began my career too, and it feels like the leadership in the company cares about the wellbeing of employees. I always recommend applying to Comcast when friends complain about their boss and/or workplace. The pay and benefits are pretty good as well. Free internet!

Cons

It can sometimes be hard to progress your career quickly. Desirable positions are often highly competitive so you must really stand out. Some departments are moving back to the office. But not all. I would suggest asking about working from home if you apply and it isn't clearly a virtual position.
