Amazing culture, rewarding mission, and state of the art crisis center.

Pros

Great mission of helping people move from crisis to hope; friendly staff who care about others; the individuals served are grateful for all of our efforts. Numerous people have thanked me, my colleagues, and the organization as a whole for saving their life. State of the art crisis center is one of the most acclaimed in the country. Higher pay rates than most similar nonprofits. Mostly crisis intervention jobs: when you clock out, you don't have to worry about work piling up or phone calls from clients/people you serve.

Cons

Local state funding reliance means funding cuts from time to time; positions get eliminated. Positions being eliminated means less flexibility and upward movement for some. Benefit structure is horrendous: rewards some and punishes others, especially those who need family coverage.
