Pros

Many hours available on a contingent basis

Cons

Absolutely the most toxic work environment I've ever encountered. Management plays definite favorites, refuses to engage with colleagues in promoting change within the agency and changes the standard of work constantly. Recipient rights violations are abundant. Poor client care. Just the worst, cannot stress this enough.

Pros

The passion of those who spend their time helping others through crisis, so matter what the circumstances. From suicidal individuals, to sober support or grief support. Everyone cares about those we help.

Cons

Communication with HR is somewhat problematic, but minor and overall a professional experience. Having a grant or donation based organization as your workplace can be stressful for job security. It’s based on the whim of a donor or government spending. It also doesn’t leave much prospect for raises in that aspect either. While not impossible, somewhat improbable.

Pros

The service you have the opportunity to provide is rewarding.

Cons

Toxic environment. Employees all fight amongst themselves and squabbles are often. Teamwork is non-existent. No support from management. No avenue for growth. Client care suffers because of the poor co-working environment and lack of management intervention. A leading staff member said, "I wish she would have committed suicide so I don't have to do her paperwork..." Empathy is non-existent. STAY AWAY.
