Pros

Programs designed to help meet academic, workforce development, and social service needs of urban school district students are client-centered. Therefore, if you have a passion for creating positive meaningful experiences for students, you will be fulfilled.

Cons

Challenges related to continuous fundraising and talent development create an imbalance and misalignment of competent professionals vs. management needs and program services. While a client-centered approach is certainly necessary for a successful and meaningful program, lack of support for infrastructure development is a cancer to overall organizational management if not actively and competently managed.

Pros

Good opportunity to get some social work/education experience out of college if you can afford to live on peanuts.

Cons

Pay is terrible, even for a non-profit. Hence turnover rate is high, which causes lack of confidence and respect among school administrators.

Pros

Working with the children to help get their needs met. Clear vision during workshops for urban areas. Workshops that are very interactive and inspiring. Once the students and parentsparticipate more the better the program

Cons

High turnover........Very low pay. Part time employment. Most resources apply to urban areas not rural resources. Clear vision during workshops for urban areas but rarely can be implemented in urban areas. Training and resources to bring in partnership for all areas across the state. Tendency to hire those who are not familiar with the hands-on work and have glorified board members......just members who do nothing.
