Pros

(1) The students who are building better lives through access to CIS services (2) The incredible people who ensure these kids - some of whom face monstrous obstacles - are inspired, supported, and connected as they pass through the valley of adolescence (3) The opportunities to learn how to work with systems at the family, community, and state level - change is happening, and CIS is a driving force in creating change.

Cons

The work load can be overwhelming - depending on strategic priorities, individuals may become marginalized or taken for granted (this happens across many organizations). There may be little margin for error, and the stakes are sometimes pretty high.
