Pros

-Wonderful team, amazing supervisor, full of people who truly love the work and are dedicated to serving students and their families -Being on the school schedule was also a bonus as we got school holidays and breaks off with pay

Cons

-The pay is low. When I was there, the starting salary was $36,000 WITH A MASTERS DEGREE -There was also a clear "hire white in upper management but folks of color in frontline positions" thing going. The advancement opportunities always seemed to lean toward a young, excited white woman, but student-facing and middle managment positions were full of people of color. (FYI: This was back in 2014-2021ish era)

Pros

Decent pay, some autonomy. Lots of people to deal with.

Cons

System inside a system, you are an outsider to the district employees. Make friends with the janitor! Leadership is spotty and not responsive, constantly talking about how busy and chaotic their own jobs are.
