Pros

There are very few competitors, the company created a market for investors who need tax credits. Properties sustain economies in low and middle class communities. Portfolio Operations Managers know their properties and residents well.

Cons

A former employee who had 7 years of experience told me that the company sets people up to fail, which I also believe is true. I turned down a competitive job offer to work at TCB and think it was the worst decision that I ever made. The unusually high turnover rate is a reflection of how little the company cares about its people. Despite the façade of a mission oriented non-profit, I was confronted with some radical leftist opinions that made me question whether or not some of the people I was working with at the corporate office knew anything about being a resource for underserved communities. The company seems to have become an expert at perverting well intentioned employees and advancing the agendas of self serving individuals.

I'm sorry that your experience to date has been so negative. If you are still with TCB and would be willing to talk with a member of the HR team in private about your experience, please reach out so that we can speak further about this and learn more. We are interested in hearing employee concerns and frustrations and looking at how to make TCB a better place to work for all employees.

Thank you for providing this feedback. As one way of trying to make pay more competitive, TCB has implemented a quarterly bonus program where property management staff can qualify for a bonus based on the performance of their site against a few key metrics. As a non-profit, it is difficult for TCB to compete against some of the larger for profit companies, but we realize the importance of competitive pay and are continuing to evaluate our plans and how we can improve.

Pros

Great Mission, nice benefits, good working conditions, fellow employees are helpful and kind, operates just like most other management companies alike

Cons

Development needs to include Property management on rehab projects from the start at design. this will keep the Property management side from spending the next two years fixing everything. Employee Moral: give end a of year bonus will go a long way !!!!
