Pros

There are loads of cute animals and some great clients.

Cons

Pay is super low. Work load is super heavy. Corporate greed at its finest. Animal care is not the first priority like it used to be. Vets are greedy. Push push push means bigger paychecks but not for rest of staff

Pros

Fast-paced environment with Health insurance, vision, dental benefits, Health savings account and paid holiday and paid time off. But you probably already have those things where you are now. Pet meds and food at discount. On the plus side I am working and earning money and have benefits. Unfortunately it is at a very high stress level.

Cons

Corporate mentality is only concerned with profit and loss not good people or good medicine. Very High turnover rate with low to no new hires so now you have to do multiple jobs at the same time. Health insurance is a High Deductable Health Care Plan with a relatively high deductable for out of pocket costs. Not loyal at all to long term employees they will use you then get rid of you on a whim. Significant employee on employee friction all the time. But I will really miss some close coworkers that are like family. My pets are not up to date and there is no time available to change that. Inventory and ordering is a nightmare and it's difficult to be allowed to keep the things you need in stock. We used to be a family. Now a good percentage of us are looking for new opportunities.
