Pros

Commvault is a market leader in the Data Management sector. Providing BaaS and IaaS solutions. Commvault is very pro-active in developing employees. Uncapped bonus and targets are not difficult to reach. Provides excellent support to succeed in role great work/life balance

Cons

No direct contract. At my level work is done on an ongoing temporary basis. Pay below desired. Limited career opportunities in UK office due to much of EMEA organization being country based. Lot's of gossip in the office poor retention in LDT team

CommVault is # 1 b'cos of the 'Product and its Developers'

Pros

# 1 Backup Product, great learning and an opportunity to work directly with Developers. No other product based company come close to this kind of culture. CommVault Support is great b'cos Developers are very approachable and most of them are always ready to jump on the call to fix the issue, very rare sight with other product based companies. Self learning is enormous, but it all depends on individual copability with pressure. CommVault on your CV is selling like a hot cake at the moment.

Cons

High pressure environment, recruitment agencies does not reveal the exact profile and the Job title, they can trick you in with fancy title like - Storage & Backup engineer, but end of the day it is TIER 1 Customer Support Engineer Role and you deal with broad set of issues, and its difficult to gain expertise in one area. Some of the TIER2s are fantastic and they help you on your cases, but most of the time they are under pressure themselves. Some times handwork goes in vain if you lack something else, management will simply pick you on that rather than motivating you for the work you have done to resolve the issue. Genuine comments are rare, some times it sounds fake. If you are already working in IT as storage or backup engineer then I would suggest stay there and learn this product on your own or do a certification with CommVault, Joining will not really help as far as work satisfaction is concerned.
