Think twice before joining a startup: a cautionary tale

- remote culture - chill leaderships - solid branding team

Cons

- poor product and engineering all across the board - they acquired the startup I worked for, promised retention bonuses and increased compensation, and then gutted most of the team + shut down the product. On top of that, they also cancelled the retention bonuses.

This isn't your typical tech company. It was started by a tradesman fixing a simple problem, not a tech guy trying to build an exit strategy. The leadership is solid, taking time to build up and coach anyone who will ask. I believe in the product and the vision, and I am stoked by the autonomy they have given me to build out my team.

Cons

Most positions are hybrid or fully remote. This is awesome for a lot of people but personally, I like working with my team in person. This is the only thing that I could complain about right now, which isn't even a CompanyCam thing.
