Pros

Weekends off, early hours. Decent insurance

Cons

RTC stands for Respect Teamwork Communication. Like any company value, it sounds great, but the reality is this. Respect is a one way street here. You must respect everything going on no matter how wrong it is for your safety, company profit, ethics, or peace of mind. On top of being forced to accept the managerial disrespect, if you politely express your concerns you will be ignored totally. When your concerns get ignored enough and you become rude, then they are quick to throw this RTC in your face with threats and the problem in their eyes becomes only that you are rude and they totally ignore the disrespect that made you rude. Left now with the only option for me to address issues is to go over their heads to high upper management, or resort to filing complaints with government agencies, or just document and keep good records to protect myself during any type of litigation.

Respecting each other is an important part of how we conduct business at Composites One – with our customers, with our suppliers and with each other. We know that establishing and sustaining an excellent culture is an ongoing endeavor and there is always work to do. If any Team Member addresses an issue locally and feels they are not being heard, they can reach out to me or any other Leadership Team Member directly, at any time. We strive to create an environment at Composites One in which all Team Members feel valued and contribute to our customer’s success. After a team member addresses the issue locally and feels they are not being heard, they should feel they can reach out to me or any other Leadership Team member directly - always. Pros

Corporate office is awesome! They practice what they preach. RTC! Respect, teamwork, communication. They have an open door policy so it isn’t the usual up the ladder chain of command. Compensation is decent.

Cons

The management team at their locations do not practice the companies core values. They expect perfection at every turn. Human errors can only occur once in a blue moon and you better have a good reason to make a mistake. Overworked overworked overworked. So many customer accounts on one person and when management was notified about needing relief, their answer is “well ask the team for help” and that is how errors happen. They fire good hardworking people and hire new ones that are even worse off. If you have a family, young children, etc. this is not the place to work. Work comes before family. Staying out with a sick child, doctors appointments, or doing anything with your family is impossible. Single parents really catch the sharp end of the knife at this “family owned business”. Work from home opportunities have so many restrictions that you don’t want to work from home. Speaking with managment about anything personal going on in your life (for transparency) is held against you. Perfection is key to this company. If they don’t like you, at the end of the day, they will do anything to put you in the hot seat and get you out of there.

At Composites One we are always disappointed to hear that a Team Member is less than satisfied with their employment experience. We believe that our culture is what makes our company a unique and wonderful place to work. Our Leadership Team takes seriously the work life balance of our Team Members, and we actively engage with our locations with regular Team Meetings, virtual town halls, fresh communications on our company Intranet, social gatherings. We also have an “open-door” environment where any senior leader is only a phone call away for anyone choosing to reach out. We offer flexibility for our Team Members to work from home when needed, and some roles are home when needed, and some roles are even hybrid or remote. However, we are a company that provides products and services to manufacturers, and our locations are set up to take care of those customers locally with a Team that is in-house and ready to serve. At the same time, we care deeply about our Team Members and have many long tenured people in various positions. We believe that by working together as a Team and supporting one another when needed, creates an environment that sets not only the company up for success, but also our Team Members. Yes, we work hard at Composites One, but we also have fun and many of us have formed lifelong friendships here. Yes, it is a family-owned company, and because of that our Team Members families are at the core of many of the excellent benefits we offer like 401k match, profit sharing, bonus plans, generous time off and dedicated sick days. We love knowing we are setting our Team Members up for long-term success and knowing this benefits their spouses, partners, children, parents, and extended family members.

Closed minded and talentless workplace

Pros

Benefits are better than average.

Cons

Management is not hired based on experience or skills and it shows. There is more meetings than necessary and absolutely nothing to show for them. Little to no growth in the business in regards to better ways of working. Every one is tenure and has the “we’ve always done it this way” attitude. So if you are new and innovative I promise you will not stay more than 2 years. I have never worked with so many closed minded people. Family business and it shows. They need to hear the truth from outside business auditors. Expand your diversity! Think outside the box. Under 40 - you will kill your career by sitting around learning absolutely nothing from these small minded individuals who were given the job for reasons other than their talents. They have a policy and procedures for everything but no one follows them because management doesn’t pay enough attention to their staff to notice.. or know them themselves. The real talent is the csrs and warehouse staff who take on all heavy workloads and criticism with absolutely no appreciation in return. I have never worked in a workplace where the direct manager didn’t know the business or have a log in to the systems. Imagine getting criticism by someone who has no idea what you did wrong, someone just told them to reprimand you. So do not expect constructive criticism.
