Pros

They do a great job at providing training materials and access to most major certifications. The only problem is when field employees train the time is not looked on favorably by those living off of spreadsheet reporting dynamics.

Cons

Where to start? Working for CompuCom means never having job security. When the company signs on new business they massively hire until the contracts change at which time massive layoffs occur. There is no such thing as stable long term employment with CompuCom. No opportunities for advancement or wage increases. CompuCom is what one would term a complete "spreadsheet" driven company. Very little reliance on human capital with a ridiculous reliance on reporting every movement and action by employees with all decisions being made several levels above any interaction with actual technicians. Lastly, CompuCom has one of the lowest pay scales among leading IT companies in the nation and wage increases are rare. As an employee of CompuCom you are nothing but an employee number on one of a thousand spreadsheet reports upper management runs on an hourly basis to criticize every movement field technicians make. The reporting standards contradict each other meaning there is no chance to actually satisfy the standards one is given. There is absolutely zero focus on end user satisfaction vs. profit margins for upper management or investment firms.

Great co-workers

Pros

Get to work remote as often as you want. All managers I have had so far are laid back. No micro management as long as you do your job.

Cons

Takes from 6 months to 1 year to get promoted. Pay is well below the average in the US for the position.

Pros

I can't speak for the rest of them but I have a great team in my area. We all help one another if we are able. There is a certain sense of freedom in not having someone looking over your shoulder constantly.

Cons

Where do I start? Upper management is a joke, this company has been bought and sold about ten times in the past three years by different investment firms looking to turn a quick buck. From my understanding this used to be a legitimate IT company, not anymore. No such thing as actual training, they teach you to manage cases, to log your time and mileage, then throw you to the wolves. If you have questions call the help desk. Pay is bottom of the barrel for this type of work, no bonuses and no real incentives. It seems like no matter how good of a job you do or how far above and beyond you go there will be something somewhere that you probably weren't even told about that you will catch flak for.
