Pros

*More autonomy than most jobs, mostly because management and other co-workers -- who are often temps -- do not get sufficient training if any at all. Like many companies, they praise a deprecated knowledge base as their godsend, but in fact rarely works, and has extremely outdated help. *Benefits firsts day for some new hires *Most co-workers are good

Cons

*Management could give a rat's behind what you do, even if you have to lie, to get the job done. My manager, and their manager, seemed to care less about if things were done ethically and by the book -- as they state they want. *Most of their workers are temps, and most have english as a second language, and have trivial job experience. They are mostly hired because they are seemingly desperate, but not too desperate, as to not be a liability and risk of fraudulent activity as the management is. You will often hear them speaking in their native tongue, and often I have been told, these people are mollycoddled because management is afraid of retribution from these people, but not native born Canadians. *Pay is poor, mostly because they have not had regular raises in many years, and since many good people were terminated, or left the company, this has had a downward pressure on wages along with the desperate foreign-born workers. *There is little to no career advancement unless you play pocket pool with management on the weekends. *It is not shocking that this company gets so high profile clients, because lying seems to be the name of the game, and quality of product is not valued anymore -- or if it ever was. *They say they are a progressive company, but still have management practices from the 1950s when people were mostly unskilled labor. Their immature management style is, and still, leading to quality people, and eventually clients leaving. *They have been caught rigging the SLA system on a variety of clients to cover-up for management mistakes, which they blame on employees. As I said, they still operate as though they are in the 1950s. * "Terminate them with a smile" * You speaking an in-demand language like French will not help you, as they treat them the same as they treat the temporary workers.

Pros

Some of the techs are great to work with and very helpful. Get your certifications (they pay for those) and get out. No other pros, this company sucks!!

Cons

They overwork their techs, a very thankless job. They are not family friendly and there's no such thing as having a personal life. No raise for over 7 years, not even a cost of living increase. They get their bonuses every quarter but nothing to the people doing the actual work. Management is secretive and disorganized, a definite "boys club" environment. They keep talking about getting "back to basics", but nothings materialized except for getting worse every month. This company is going downhill and will drag everyone with it. Any job opening that you see on any job board is completely false... they do not offer good medical (very bare bones and expensive), competitive salary (compared to whom?, their starting pay is the lowest out there and just as bad if you have experience and certifications), great working hours (only if you like working from sun up to sun down, working weekends and being on call every other week), there's no such thing as formal training - it's all learned everyday that you work ( no classroom training or computer based, it's all done by certifying on the manufacturers equipment and that's it) and you have a job as long as you do as you're told like sheep or you're out of a job. They rule over their employees with fear and intimidation. There's no bonus, performance or otherwise, unless you're a manager. They never hire from within, lots of talented techs in the field to choose from. No advancement opportunities whatsoever, you'll be at your job for as long as you stay with them. The best advice I can give anyone... run from this company as fast as you can... not worth the stress and headache. You won't have to give them unpaid time just to get some work done and there's lots of it once you're home. I would rather work at a fast food restaurant than here, at least there they give you a raise yearly, even if it's a small one. They hire more and more VP's and senior management every month which means more money to the top and more taken from the bottom.

Not that much advancement. They have programs for which path you want to take, tech, supervisor, manager etc.
