Pros

Flexible schedule and liberal leave policy. Rare face-to face with immediate supervisor.

Cons

Where to start. Micro-management is paramount within this company today. No rocks left un-turned with the new military-style management philosophies/strategies to squeeze another nickle from the already bottom of the scale paid field service groups. Metrics are gospel and if they don't paint a pretty picture, you can guarantee heads are going to roll by brow-beating every team member whether they've contributed to the unacceptable metrics or not. Middle management/bean counters have no clue that there are actual real people working for them out in the field. The company mantra of "win-win" is reserved for middle/upper-management and the shareholders or now......... Office Depot. Integrity was thrown out the door sometime around 2008 when they changed the compensation model, and then again in 2011 when across the board pay-cuts were handed-out even though they still managed to turn a profit every year since that time. NO RAISES in nearly 10 years, NO COST OF LIVING INCREASES EVER since 2008, just a myriad of excuses as to why the finance dept denied the funds (only way to get anything is to threaten to quit or hound them for months on end and even then, 99% of efforts are met with a big fat NO!). Oh yeah, that's right, because they couldn't afford it... Hmmm, I bet mid-upper management got their raise/bonuses like clockwork though. Sad state of affairs within this company which is why all of the great, hardworking techs/analysts and specialists have moved on to other opportunities. Run... run far away from this career growth-stunting micro-managing machine!

Transforming with a Struggle

Pros

Good People in middle management.

Cons

The same people who have been there 18-20 years, their old-school senior/exec management team keeps making the same legacy mistakes that lead to poor sales opportunities and slow adoption. They bring in new blood to help make the changes, but don't engage with them. Lots of ego here killing them. It's a bad cycle. They bring in new talent to help take them down the new road, but still manage the same old way and don't implement the changes to stay competitive. When they fail, they remove the new blood they brought it and keep the sr. management that made the legacy based poor decisions. Thus propogating their same problems.

Pros

Strong leadership and great opportunity for advancement. Headquarters is truly state of the art, high tech. Video games scattered around the building. Grab and go food service is convenient. They will have a medical clinic in the HQ building. Feels like a Google type of office atmosphere. People are down to earth and highly collaborative from top to bottom.

Cons

None I’m aware of. Communications have been good, I’d like it to stay that way. Customer first focus is good.
