Pros

A paycheck, a few cool coworkers

Cons

Customers will treat you as sub human every single day, management is often unresponsive, this job is draining and exhausting, training is nowhere near thorough enough, there is absolutely no room for growth here. This job is a dead end.

Thank you for submitting your feedback. We recognize that manager communication and training and growth opportunities are important to our employees. As such, our competence development program focuses on employee growth and development. It outlines how to move through a career path, how CTG can support you, and how to take control over your advancement. We believe this tool is something all employees can benefit from and hope you take the time to discuss it with your manager. We wish you the best of luck in your career.

Worst experience ever

Pros

Absolutely nothing. Unusual/unorthodox team structure. No true team lead for guidance to freshers.

Cons

I don’t know where to start honestly. I guess I’ll start with how excited they were to bring me on the ‘team’ as a ServiceNow developer specifically working in the ITBM module. After a week of onboarding, I was assigned a massive project which required a lot of research and messing around in my personal instance. I managed to push a few pieces of code to prod before the project was cancelled after 4 days of my second week. I was promised by 4 different people telling me to hold off on my job search because they had another project they were putting me on. So after a month of studying and waiting, I was told they didn’t need me anymore for reasons still unknown to me. I’ll have everyone know that I was never told with a personal phone call. I was randomly sent an email the day before I was supposed to start that said they didn’t need me anymore and that they moved on with a more senior developer and to return the laptop ASAP. No severance. No apology. Just rude upper management. Awful and toxic place to work.

Thank you for submitting feedback. It’s difficult for us to comment without knowing the full details surrounding the situation, but we want to assure you that open and clear communication, particularly in regards to project status, is a priority at CTG. Our managers genuinely care about supporting our employees, delivering on promises, and making employees successful in their roles. The experience you described is not consistent with our core values or the Great Place to Work culture we uphold. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

For junior testers only

Business Outlook

Pros

Good place for juniors to work at respectable clients. Car and/or bike lease

Cons

-Family or social life not compatible with carrier at CTG. (after 6y I was told to leave because "I don't put my professional career, above my personal life", after my holidays and during corona confinment, after 6 months of homeworking with kids around) -Minimum salary. -Fairy tale values. -Ruthless management (since change). -Slow career progression (unless you attend after work events, or organize trainings on your own time). -Not as multicultural as other companies. -Except for Testing, other departments are symbolical. -Obsessed with the "Employer of the Year" label, which is a masquerade.

Thank you for taking time to submit feedback. In follow up to your concerns, we believe CTG offers career enhancing opportunities for all levels of employees, whether they are junior, senior, or somewhere in between. We are disheartened to hear you felt your family and social life were not compatible with a CTG career because we feel quite the opposite. Especially while we work through the complexities of a COVID-19 world, CTG supports flexible schedules with work from home options so employees are able to fulfill both their job requirements and family obligations. We feel that type of support along with our dedication to employee well-being is what earned us “Great Place to Work” certifications in 2019, which is notably different from the “Employer of the Year” survey that we do not participate in. As you know, Filip Gydé, our CEO, is particularly driven by employee satisfaction and ensuring CTG lives up to his mantra that “happy people produce quality work”. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

Thank you for submitting your feedback! We feel our friendly environment is a direct result of CTGers embracing and exemplifying our core values. Open communication and respect are held in high regard by our executive and leadership teams, which not surprisingly, trickles down to teams all across the company. If an employee feels there is a lack of opportunities for growth, we encourage them to reach out to their manager. Our industry is transforming at an accelerated pace, which translates into new and exciting opportunities for our employees. Discuss your career goals with your manager so you can identify and develop a growth path together. Best of luck to you in the future!

Pros

Pros include a fun group of people. Even though I work remotely with a team of people located all over the United States, I feel like I have gotten to know my team very well even though I don't see them in the office every day. Management is supportive, understanding, and fairly flexible about life circumstance and time off.

Cons

Not a good position for people who do not prefer working from home and being on call.

Thank you for taking the time to submit such a thoughtful response! We’re glad you enjoyed the remote work environment and established meaningful connections to your co-workers. Our managers collaborate and share ideas on the most effective ways to connect with employees they don’t see in an office setting every day. Video chats and frequent check-ins are high on the list! For those who prefer to work in the office full time or on a hybrid basis, we offer those types of positions as well! The work location typically depends on the nature and responsibilities of the position. Thank you for being a CTGer!

Pros

Working from home, doing what I love to do.

Cons

Where can I start, no clear cut job description. Management is horrible, I was once asked why i took 10 minutes to use the bathroom. Lack of transparency from management, got a 1 1/2 % raise after a year despite being one of the top producing team members. An IT sweatshop.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. The positive qualities you mentioned in your response: teamwork, continuous learning, management support, and a healthy work/life balance are fundamental elements that earned CTG USA a second consecutive Great Place to Work certification for 2021! Our management and leadership teams encourage each CTGer to live up to their fullest potential by supporting career development and advancement. In order to help facilitate the career progression process, we recently implemented a Global Competence Management System, which guides in employees in identifying a career path and developing a learning plan. Be sure to ask your manager about it if you haven’t seen it yet!
