Pros

Coworkers are generally friendly. It’s remote work. Work life balance is good.

Cons

Extremely low pay. 45k a year + 1-5k in commission if you’re doing well. Asked to sell every tech product in existence with very little training on any of it. Best case scenario is you can stick around long enough for other AM’s to get fired/leave and you can take their buying accounts. Only successful reps are the people who have been there 15+ years and I imagine they get their accounts in that same way. It almost seems that’s the business model. Have new people come in for a few months, pick up a couple new accounts, and then hand those off to the vets as they leave. Also you’ll be working the same 5-6k leads that have been in the system since 2006.

Sales People Beware

Pros

Can’t think of a single thing.

Cons

Awful on boarding training, favoritism is on the top of their agenda, targeting certain employees seems to be common, expectations depends on if management likes you or not. Read all of their policies, it’s very concerning. They can do whatever they want to you at any given time. Management and training do not teach the same things. You’re constantly mislead on expectations. They treat your role like a call center, all they care about are calls. I’ve never been more turned off by a sales position in my life.HR is not your friend here. Once I complained about targeting and obvious misconduct (with proof), I was targeted and fired a few months later once I submitted the evidence.

Pros

- Not a bad place to start your career in tech sales / channel sales - remote work is available - benefits are good not great - people are overall pretty friendly - great networking opportunities with various OEMs

Cons

- pay is not competitive, and it's only getting lower day by day (my job got posted and it was listed at 3k less than I was making) - bonuses are severely capped - very little room to grow in Product Management - Management and leadership are out of touch with their workers / simply don't care - my manager outright told me he feels bad there's no room for me to grow even though I'm an excellent employee - basically zero culture - absolutely everything is paid for by partners - seemingly no direction from leadership, just "sell more" - quarterly recognition is rewarded with.... Your name in a slide deck. The list could go on....
