In this review, I aim to recount my harrowing experience with Connection, shedding light on the hostile management, unscrupulous practices, and overall toxicity that permeated every aspect of my time with the company. While this review aims to share my personal encounter, it also serves as a cautionary tale for others who may find themselves seeking employment at Connection. I hope to provide insights into the behaviors, policies, and culture that made this particular employer a nightmare to work for. I commenced my employment at Connection shortly after high school and continued working there during a portion of my college career. However, my experience was marred by ceaseless harassment from the management, leading to countless tears and months of deep depression. Eventually, I made the decision to bring my two-year tenure at Connection to an end and transitioned to an authentic IT company that genuinely values and appreciates its employees – something Connection would benefit from considering. In retrospect, I should have trusted my instincts and walked away when no one showed up for my initial scheduled interview. However, being young and in need of what I believed to be a promising job, I decided to give it a chance. During the interview, I was presented with a role that seemed tailor-made for my skills, and I was filled with hope as I was assured that with my determination and demonstrated abilities, I would have ample opportunities for rapid advancement within the company. Another crucial aspect to highlight is the issue of overtime, which was conveniently omitted during the interview process. Just two weeks into my employment, all employees were subjected to mandatory overtime, requiring us to work from Monday to Saturday, starting at 4:00 am and ending at 2:30 pm. If you prioritize your own well-being and the time and energy you can devote to your family, I strongly recommend seeking employment opportunities elsewhere. Despite my strong qualifications, including multiple certifications and almost completing a degree in computer science, Connection showed no regard for my educational achievements. As a young and eager individual, I soon realized that the company took advantage of my willingness to adapt and learn. It became evident that Connection had a tendency to exploit those who were resistant to change, particularly by employing individuals who had previously worked in other factories within the Wilmington area. They created an environment where employees felt trapped and convinced that they would never find better employment elsewhere, treating them accordingly. My growing disdain for Connection began when a remarkable first-shift supervisor decided to step down, only to be replaced by an internal employee who was promoted to assume his role. In my view, this transition marked a significant turning point, triggering a downward spiral in both the team's morale and overall productivity within the Configuration Lab. Furthermore, I feel compelled to highlight a distressing incident involving a case of sexual harassment that I reported during my time at the company. To my dismay, the response from HR was disheartening, as they simply instructed the individual to cease their behavior without any further disciplinary action. Shockingly, when I sought support and understanding from HR, I was met with dismissive remarks suggesting that such incidents are commonplace for women and that we should simply grow accustomed to them. In conclusion, I strongly urge you to explore alternative employment opportunities, as I can confidently guarantee that you will encounter the same challenges and struggles as the current employees at Connection, just as I did during my tenure with the company.

There are some good people here.

If you enjoy having your weekends and being well rested then I wouldn’t recommend this job. We have been getting blind sided by massive work loads from sales with absolutely no push back from upper management who could say to sales “we can get the job done but we need to be able to do it without throwing overtime at our employees”. Don’t believe certain people who say management is getting onto sales about the sudden massive order drops that come out of no where because if that was true we wouldn’t be getting stuck with overtime again and again. We have also known about large orders already in the pipeline that are purposely drop toward the end of the quarter possibly to fluff their portfolio all while employees are wishing they could enjoy their spring/summer if just a little. Well rested employees are happier and better workers.
