Cons

New CEO has destroyed the servant leadership approach that was built over the last decade. The company went from engaged and happy employees performing well to a drastic shift of ruthless mandates and deliberate efforts to force anyone and everyone out of the company to meet a headcount number and to avoid saying "layoff". Dont fool yourself, the new CEO doesnt care about you and he has his entire senior team at his mercy following his new abrasive leadership style.

People used to write that the benefits were a pro, but they've just made a change to those for 2024. They cut sick leave, which mostly affects the parental leave policy they recently made in 2020/2021. Funny enough, though, this change didn't happen until after Lauren Youngdahl-Snyder (a VP who was a business sponsor of the previous parental leave policy improvement) got to enjoy a nice parental leave of her own ... as well as her sister and brother-in-law, twice. Hmm.

Cons

Garrick is running the company culture into the ground. We used to have a CEO whose motto was "Leading with Love" and now we have Garrick, with a personal goal to see how far he can tank company culture. He's definitely running the company with a, "Do as I say, or leave," mentality, pretending that the decisions he's making are being made with employee input. But, then he doesn't listen to any of the employee feedback that screams a different story.

Department and immediate management levels are great leaders, kind, fair people! We are given the processes, tools and other things we need to get our jobs done.

Cons

Senior leadership (C-suite) executives are different than when I started a couple years back. They are cancelling remote work and going back on job offers that were written to be fully remote. In mid-April 2023, they told employees they need to move back to Michigan by May 15th, or they could leave via a Voluntary Separation Plan (VSP)... pretty cold hearted, but wait it gets worse. The VSP originally allowed employees to continue to work remotely, but they changed that mid-stream too... so I guess it sucks for employees who moved away from the home office during the pandemic. I heard of an employee who was 2 months from retirement after working over 30 years with the company, and moved to FL during the Pandemic... They want her to move back and report at HQ. HEARTLESS. CE has hired a consulting firm called McKinsey, and I've heard the Execs taking guidance from them to cut our workforce down by at least 1/4 to help save a billion dollars by 2026, and provide lower rates. They're money grabbing execs, and the culture is tanking... all they care about is the mighty dollar.
