Pros

Most co-workers are great to work with and are caring, but not beyond that. Benefits are almost on par with some companies nowadays but are still behind.

Cons

Leadership are micromanagers starting at the top and down to most mid-level managers. The new Career and Rewards Framework was a means to reduce headcount by 10% nearly immediately. Forward looking the ability to grow within the company has been removed, you can no longer get salary increases outside of the below market annual merit increases. Executive leadership is by far the worse, CEO has no clue how to run a company let alone a regulated company. The board needs to remove Garrick from his role immediately, the culture of this company has only declined since he's taken over.

Pros

- Industry: The organization makes a difference and is essential in our community. Being part of something bigger has the potential to be fulfilling if the experience was tolerable and ethical.

Cons

- Terrible leadership at the highest level. I came to Consumers hoping the pre-Garrick experience would be there but he has successfully destroyed what I’m told the prior CEO created - Worst HR leadership I’ve ever seen and I’ve done this a very long time! SVP and VP make decisions to benefit themselves and their friends and people operate in fear. If you want to have a voice and if you want a truly performance based experience, this company isn’t for you. Care is not part of this HR team, no matter how many times they insist it is. - There is irony behind this: HR can’t handle diversity and employees across HR are sensing it based on diverse departures in the past 2 years and how many team members feel “benched” and ignored when they bring their whole selves to work. Care is not part of this HR team, no matter how many times they insist it is. - Too many internal promotions and too little external talent at higher levels to address the dysfunction across the organization

Pros

Work life balance depending on where you work. Some great people throughout the organization but you have to look hard for those people and there’s not enough of them.

Cons

Pretend like they care about coworkers and are inclusive of their workforce but it depends on who you are. Some of the executive leadership is the worst I’ve seen. HR is awful at this company. All the leaders at the top are scripted, very few are genuine. They want people who don’t challenge the status quo. There’s a lot of waste and frivolous spending. MPSC needs to ask better questions because the money they get in rate hikes doesn’t always go to where they say it’s going.
