Pros

The company culture was ok

Cons

A lot of back stabbers, properties are understaffed and overworked. They don’t want to pay you what you are worth and when you say employment elsewhere it will try to rob you for every single penny they can. Watch out for your personal time off because they will take it as well. Do not try to get any certifications through them, they will make you sign a document and if you find a better opportunity elsewhere they will make you pay for everything.

Disappointing Experience

Pros

Jim & Dan really care, and I think have every intention of making the company a true organization full of leaders. They ensure to take small steps each day to give back to the associates as a whole. The salary & benefits were in line with the market and I have no complaints there.

Cons

The core values are not felt in the organization. It was disappointing to find that although the leaders at the very top do seem to care, the remainder of the senior leadership team (or those that I worked with) seem to only be concerned with themselves and not truly in the best interest of the organization; spreading rumors, manipulating and bullying associates, and micro-managing every little aspect of every single thing you do. I felt there were no opportunities to learn from my senior leadership, no room to grow unless you want to manage lease up after lease up of the same 200-unit site, and it feels the organization is only full of new managers, or associates new to the industry, or associates that started in the industry with this company and have seen things never done another way - a very "my road or nothing" mentality. They think they are new and innovative, and are doing things like we did 20 years ago - with no new ideas, operations, or designs to keep residents and associates engaged. They will promote you if you keep your voice down, do not speak your true opinions, and move to multiple different states to lease up a new site for them every two years. I've worked for multiple different organizations throughout my career, and this was the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I've never written a review before about a company, but I felt it was worth it enough based on the experience I had. I had no voice, no opportunity to make a difference, was talked about behind my back, was manipulated into thinking I was causing a problem even though I was performing for the company, and then when I left, they calculated my final paychecks wrong - twice. They don't know what they're doing, and if YOU know what you're doing, pick a company that is going to appreciate you and save the valuable time you will lose by joining this company. I am so disappointed and sad to find out what kind of organization I joined, and I'm hoping this review will make a difference for someone else.

Corporate lacking

Pros

The office was nice, that's about it.

Cons

Corporate does not care to understand their employees needs and cannot staff or keep a staff. Management focused on throwing people under the bus and not giving support to employees.

We appreciate the feedback. It is unfortunate to hear you had this experience. We genuinely care about our employees and work hard to listen, collaborate, and support them. Again, thank you for the feedback. We will continue to strive for continuous improvement.
