Pros

Spacious new office, free lunch and unlimited snacks

Cons

Management weak and not focused. Trust no one in H.R. if you want a job where you can just collect a paycheck this is for you. If you are looking for meaningful rewarding work. Look elsewhere.

Pros

Free food and snacks Nice building when maintained Can do 0 work and get paid Stable as long as you play the political game Wellness benefit is grossed up Perfect for moonlighting

Cons

Incredibly dysfunctional Organization as a whole Building is not maintained too well anymore Management only cares about their advancement Individual Contributors are either coasting or pushed out by the management team Business does not pay bills on time No room for professional growth/advancement Nepotism No product advancement Management constantly changing direction Weak technical talent Low Compensation for a large company in Silicon Valley (at the IC level at least) Individual achievements/performance is not a factor for promotions or advancement Most people do not care about the project Decisions are made by the largest complainer Lack of mentorship for lower level engineers Individual contributors are scapegoats Bureaucracy for everything Managers makes false promises to thier managees. No transparency Main company is pretty much a cult and you are expected to fall in line and say how great this place is and how great the company is doing. Any issues that go against the status quo are met with responses such as "We will create a committee to investigate the issues in 3 quarters" which always yields "There was nothing wrong with the existing process"

Pros

- Free food - HR caring about gender equality - Great work life balance, (since you are not delivering much tangible outcome)

Cons

- No product vision or strategy. This place is just a marketing prop for Continental corporation to say that they have "silicon valley operation" and "startup entrepreneurship" on paper. - Middle management doesn't know what they are doing. Thus, they have no idea of how to evaluate anyone's contribution and performance. Plenty of good people left with frustration of not being recognized and not being able to deliver customer value. In the meanwhile, plenty of people whose day-to-day job is just sitting there and browsing the internet are comfortably collecting a paycheck. - Horrible leadership from top down. Things could have been changed with new leadership, but it's an unknown. The best thing the German headquarter had done to this ITS division so far is to let the original executives go, after the employees had to endure moral harassment and embarrassment for 2 years without any directions. The worst thing German headquarter had done to ITS is to hire those executives from Google in the first place. - Rigid culture and not enough diversity. Middle management here tend to refer and hire their own family members and friends on the team. It can be very dangerous.
