Pros

Good company with the right teams and right culture (Sales)

Cons

The job culture could be better from top down instead of by department.

Pros

Great pay, fantastic customer base, supportive immediate team, opportunities for upward mobility, attentive tech support, Deaf owned and operated, Deaf focused, largely Deaf culture. Great Benefits, PTO for full and part time, Professional Development funds, education reimbursement, wellness reimbursement, paid wellness hours granted annually for full and part time. job security. frequent communication from VI team/upper management. Constant improvement to software, policies, etc. receptive to new ideas.

Cons

technology is in the process of being updated, so sometimes has glitches. software is currently awkward. there are often not enough interpreters on the phones for the volume of calls coming in, but this is gradually improving.

Pros

At CONVO, the biggest pro is in direct relation to my peers - the video interpreters. They are what makes Convo culture strong and each and every one of us a unique asset to the company. There used to be a bigger list of pros for this organization, but unfortunately they are running it to the ground as of this year (2021) with an average rate of 2-3 interpreters leaving the company every 1-2 weeks.

Cons

-Poor upper management (horrible roll outs of new policy or company changes with little to no warning about what they are or when they will be implemented, managers seem to get jobs based on nepotism and not actual education in the field, not enough recognition or respect for VI's despite saying they do, the list goes on) -Interpreters never have a seat at the table to help with changes that direct effect them -Horrible compensation (no differentials during ques, veteran interpreters receiving raises of less that $1 after not receiving a raise in years, when raises are given it is because interpreters fought for them but the results are poor and do not keep up with market value / inflation) -Slow PTO accrual -High demand of Deaf callers, low (and continuing to lower) supply of interpreters -Fast burnout of interpreters due to consistent que and not enough call coverage
