Pros

The FastTrack'd program is everything Cook Systems promotes it to be. In 8 weeks, if you can meet the requirements to enter the program, and are intent on working hard, you can come out on the other end with the equivalent experience in Java development as someone who has been working in Java development for 3-5 years. The curriculum is constantly being reviewed and updated to stay current with the latest trends. The instructors are very knowledgeable and stay as current as the curriculum. Don't know of a Java boot camp with an equivalent. Once you graduate, if you are placed with a client, the raises are steady and as good as promised. Never had a problem getting PTO time, benefits are very fair and clearly explained. You will also be supported very well on your assignments by mentors and coaches. The FastTrack'D program is every bit as good as advertised.

Cons

As good as the FastTrack'D program is, the sales force at Cook Systems is not up to the same standard. What is needed is some sort of SalesTrack'D training for sales folks so they can get as current as the technical staff. So many qualified people on the "bench" is like a diamond store with a lot of stock on the shelves saying they have too many diamonds. There's no such thing as having too many diamonds (or strongly competent developers), you just need more people who are better at selling diamonds.

Pros

1. You make a lot of friends here. 2. Good training program if you don't have a STEM degree. 3. Good starting job if you can't find a programming job. 4. Relaxing work environment because there is no manager in the office. 5. You get contracts from big companies. If you get an offer for the training and you can't get a job elsewhere, just come. It doesn't hurt because there is no hidden fee for the training. Free hotel yah! You can leave at any time you want without paying a penny

Cons

1. The training program is too easy for people who know about programming and too hard for people who have never done any kind of programming before. There are chefs, sales representatives. veterans, writers, etc., and 80% of fail because it's too hard for someone who doesn't know programming at all to learn how to code after 8 weeks of training. 2. The starting salary is about 30K. You get 15% raise every 6 months ONLY IF you're not on bench.

Pros

-Good training program. -Free 1 star hotel while training with unknown partner

Cons

-No pay for two months -Beware of recruiter giving you 100% raise after three years. -Below minimum starting salary as a Developer. -Don't let them reel you in with sales pitch voice. -You get weeded out in the training process. -If you have no options this may be an option for you regardless if you have don't have a Bachelors in CS or straight out of high school.

Cook Systems Response

We are disappointed that you didn't have a great experience with us, but fortunately, much has chanced since you reviewed our company. Our FastTrack program can be completed completely remotely and incoming pay has been raised. Our goal is not to "sell" anyone on our program, it is to better people's lives through our program. Thanks for taking the time to leave us your thoughts so that we can continue to improve!
