Thank you for your honest feedback. We're glad to see that you are enjoying our relaxed environment and scheduling flexibility, but we're happy to address your complaints as well.
Hours: Every business has busy and slow seasons. When our workload is low enough, we do give people the *option* to go home early and we prioritize the existing work for our most efficient and tenured staff. If the office closes early or is closed for the weekend, it is always announced with as much advanced notice as we are capable of giving, and it is always due to one of the following three scenarios:
1. There was not enough incoming volume to accomodate weekend hours without hurting hours for the upcoming week. As that's when most people work and put in their core hours, we'd rather avoid having to ask people to go home during the week.
2. Either no one, or not nearly enough people, scheduled hours for the weekend.
3. There was a major holiday. Unless it's Christmas or Thanksgiving, closures normally also mean one or both of the previous reasons played into closing as well.
When the queue is busy, we need to make sure that we are fully staffed, so we cannot afford to stop hiring while the queue is low, especially because we cannot control turnover. We employee many students, who will find that they have to quit if their courseload is too heavy or at the end of the year when they graduate and move cities. And, like any other type of work, this job isn't for everyone, and that's okay!
Pay/breaks: If you get up to take a restroom break without being locked out, you absolutely are paid for that time. If you have questions about that, please speak with the Operations Manager in your office. As to needing more time, every manager has the ability to make exceptions to the break policy within reason and at their discretion. And while you are correct that we pay up to $13/hour, I am happy to say that many of our employees consistently make $13 each pay period. It is entirely possible and we are happy to give you the training to get there, but it's all about what you personally put into it. Again, if you need help in that area, speak with a member of your management team and we are happy to do our part to help you succeed. That's ultimately what we want. When you succeed, so do we!
