Pros

Corbis has fair benefits package and a relaxed culture. There is a high degree of concensus building that goes on at the top levels that can be highly educational to watch. Learning to navigate a company like Corbis can be extremely helpful in future jobs.

Cons

Corbis is reactive and late in everything it does. The market is changing rapidly and there is reason to believe the company will shrink in the coming years. Senior Management is indecisive and it can be infuriating to watch new ideas or initiatives fall victim to irrational and emotional objections from any level in the company - even after executive sign-off.

Pros

A great product, with great suppliers (photographers and media partners), great employees, and exciting, sexy industry. Lots of opportunity to make a difference in the industry, and good cache on resume given the company's public recognition. Clients like Corbis, too.

Cons

Going through a tough time in its industry, with dire predictions for the impact of competing microstock companies, constant senior leadership changes and business strategies, and a growing sense of internal fear at speaking your mind. Management got the cost containment part down recently, but is having problems with the vision for increasing revenue and market share.

Pros

There's a lot to be said for working with creativity as a product to sell. The benefits are (or were) outstanding and if you don't take the layoffs and mood swings of the company personally, one can eek out a nice little gig there. Look at lots of pictures :o) The building is cool, the location in Seattle is excellent, and while there I met some really good friends that I still see and enjoy and we almost never speak of Corbis. I wish the company success and all the people working there the peace of mind you need to work in corporate america. Also, many photographers are some outstanding human beings. I miss them.

Cons

The senior management shifts regularly, and the departments reinvent themselves frequently.
