System could sink or swim...trying to stay hopeful that positive changes will happen.
Pros
- Multiple different shift opportunities ONLY at this location - Having a great deal of autonomy in your patients care - Having iPhones as work phones with Mobile Heartbeat making communication much easier at this hospital versus others using older technology - EPIC EMR system - Multiple different departments and job opportunities to explore your career - Most of the employees are helpful, friendly, and welcoming to everyone alike.
Cons
- For a non-profit company, they are overly focused on profits and have been slowing reducing the quality of medical supplies and have eliminated a great deal of helpful resources, which in turn has resulted in heavier and heavier workloads placed on nursing staff especially, but has also effected all other departments usually involved in patient care. - Unclear, or lack there of, communication usually involving medical providers and upper management. - Minimal follow through/changes/consequences from upper administration on reported concerns. These commonly involve safety issues, unprofessional behavior, broken processes/procedures, and absence of policies or updates to them where they are required. - Many employees quite frankly feel unheard by administration dispite the systems poor attempts to send out "Listening Surveys" that do not seem to be listened to at all. On the rare case when concerns are addressed, the solutions presented are miniscule.
