Pros

Lots of collaboration, very open atmosphere, and excellent faculty who are extremely innovative and foster creativity. The facilities available are first-class, there are classes in almost any area you are interested in, and all the staff are friendly and eager and motivated to help your research. The stipend for graduate students is very high, and leads to a very comfortable lifestyle.

Cons

It's a little isolated, which can mean that it can get very boring in Ithaca, especially in the winter. It helps if you have family nearby.
