We thank you for taking the time to leave our us your feedback. We are glad that you could experience the family at work culture we are proud of here at Cornerstone. In order to enhance the performance and development of our team members, Cornerstone Home Lending recently implemented a new company-wide performance appraisal process. We are pleased with this new process and will continue to look for ways to provide opportunities that address the needs of our team members. – Willie French, SVP-HR

Pros

Culture of family and team is alive and well in all areas except for the IT organization. A high value on people and diversity of ideas powers the company. But somehow that fact is lost in all aspects of the companies IT department.

Cons

IT organizational leadership is some of the worst I have ever been a part of. The working staff is very capable and knowledgeable. However a single person in IT leadership cultivates an environment of fear and subservience, working toward an agenda known only to him. His wants and opinions are the only ones that are "correct" and everyone that disagrees or offers a different one is "incompetent" and a "liability" to the "long term plan" known only to him. This dictatorship coupled with a very nonconfreatational CIO makes for an abusive and stagnant environment devoid of innovation.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback to us. We strive to make every team member experience a very positive experience. Since you were fairly new to the company and are no longer with the company, your comments reveal that you were not satisfied with your supervisor(s). Regardless of the differences of opinion that might exist, the situation is disappointing for all of us. Your comments and feedback have been forwarded to the Executive Officer in our Technology Dept, our Human Resources Director, the company's President, and its CEO. We apologize that things didn't work out and sincerely wish you the best in your next job. - Jennifer Weber, The Cornerstone Team

Pros

Teamwork! Everyone works together to close loans. It's a beautiful thing after working in big banking for years and watching the adversarial relationships between ops and sales. We are a very people-centric company from keeping our clients happy and also keeping a happy and engaged workforce. Employees are given a lot of latitude to do their job and make their own decisions. It's a beautiful thing to see--employees work THAT much harder here. Loans close on time. I've never seen a company treat employees so well from surprise extra floating holidays (amazing!) to gift cards during employee appreciation week and even a surprise Christmas bonus (who does that anymore?!). Management is always accessible and there really is a family like atmosphere. it's just SO refreshing!!! I truly see myself retiring here. I've found my "home".

Cons

Just a few--standardize the vacation across the company. I went from one region that I got all of my vacation hours at the beginning of the year and then transferred to a new position and new region where you basically get no vacation your first year and have to "borrow" against your next year! That was a total shocker as I have time off scheduled and I'm essentially borrowing next year's time at this point. Very frustrating especially for a company that is otherwise HUGE on work life balance. The medical/dental could be better but not a huge thing to me since I'm on my spouse's plans. Also more of a 401k match would be awesome as I lost about 4% from my former employer in coming to cornerstone.

‎Thank you so much for your feedback. At Cornerstone Home Lending, we make it a practice to regularly review our policies and processes to make sure we're meeting the needs of our team members while remaining competitive in our industry. Giving our work-family enough downtime to rest and refresh is very important to us. We value your opinion and will keep this in mind as we review our vacation policy. All the best. - Willie French, Senior Vice President of Human Resources
