Pros

- Structure and support on all levels. - You are actually valued and appreciated - it's not fake. - You have the power to make decisions and are encouraged to voice ideas and implement changes. - Communication is clear, goals are realistic, a mission you can stand behind. - Communities are well kept and staffed properly! - Core Values aren't just a poster on the wall, everyone really believes in our culture. - Compensation is great. - I can't stress enough the importance of feeling valued and appreciated - Cortland crushes it! I could literally go on forever, Hands down the best company I've worked for.

Pros

Cortland has many layers of support to ensure we successfully provide the best living experience for our residents. As a company, we work together to deliver and maintain the highest standards in the multifamily industry.

Cons

Limited access to computer systems capabilities. Having to reach out to our support department for things that could easily be completed at the site level.

Great Culture, Poor Flexibility

Pros

The team in the Atlanta CSC is amazing - the culture, in my experience, is open, honest, and positive. There's a feeling that everyone is giving their best, which makes getting things done much more enjoyable. I don't ever feel like I'm doing busywork or working without a shared goal in mind.

Cons

There is no work from home and no option to telecommute, so no ability to schedule a regular work from home day. This would be frustrating anywhere, but traffic in Atlanta is a nightmare - even people that live within 10 miles of the office can spend more an hour and a half commuting every day. A policy this inflexible makes work-life balance more difficult to achieve. I really wish I had a day to work from home each week - instead of a quick walk around the office or to the kitchen to grab coffee when I need a break, I could throw laundry in the dryer, start meal prep, or spend 5-10 minutes picking up after kids. Little breaks that would make a real difference in my stress level day to day. And that's not to mention the benefits of skipping a day in traffic! I do love my colleagues and the day to day at Cortland, though! Not every company is going to be flexible and that's okay. But flexibility/work from home policy is the thing I'd change if I could.

Hello! Our culture is something we’re very proud of, and we’re glad you think it‘s as great as we do. We want our work environment to be a place where associates feel comfortable, inspired, and passionate about what they’re doing. We’re always searching for ways to be better, and suggestions are most certainly welcome. As we evolve, a working from home policy could be a future possibility. We try to be flexible with our associates and mindful of personal situations – so please reach out to your supervisor and discuss any concerns to figure out a solution that works best for you! #GrowTogetherAndPlayAsATeam
