Pros

Commissions are okay since you're usually taking on the work load of a full staff all by yourself.

Cons

Always understaffed!! Too busy to do any training. Management will nitpick at certain staff and cover up incidents done by favored staff. If maintenance needs a higher budget to make repairs the money will be taken from their bonuses. Also, Colorado requires employers to payout earned vacation time but Cortland has in their handbook they don't have to. So basically you could work like crazy because they're always short staffed, earn a bunch of vaca and then get terminated and get nothing. Disgusting.

Hello! We’re disappointed to hear that your associate experience didn’t meet our Cortland expectations. We understand that being on site can get hectic, but we always seek to provide our residents and associates with the best support. Yes, sometimes maintenance may need a higher budget for certain repairs, however it does not get taken out of their bonuses! If that is the case, please reach out to your Director of Operations so we can get this resolved. We’re also aware of all state laws and we always ensure consistency in the application of our policies and procedures.

Pros

Leadership. I have been through quite a few leaders within Cortland. (some due to structure change, some due to position change) and I have grown beyond where I ever believed I would be by now in my career. I feel that Cortland is a company that will push you to be better and, if you have the grit, you will be better. I have been promoted 3 times within two-years, every single time being thought of due to my individual strengths. You will need to be open to hearing the good and the bad feedback but truly if you want somewhere to grow this is the place.

Cons

Working from home more often would be awesome but that's not reasonable for my position.
